Dear Partner,

Asset Africa Institute, (www.assetafrica.co.ke), is pleased to announce the following seminar set to take place in March, 2016 in Nairobi, Kenya.

Seminar Title: The Theory of Change, Contribution Assessment & Implications to Development Programming
Date: 21st -24th March 2016
Venue: Nairobi Kenya
Cost: USD 870

Need for the Training
The development sector is a highly evolving one and an upward mobile program manager/officer/planner needs to constantly update her/himself to new methods of assessing the effectiveness of programs her/his organization undertakes. Currently, many NGOs, Philanthropists/Donors and Government Agencies are widely using the Theory of Change (ToC) and Contribution Assessment methodology for their program planning, implementation and evaluation; and, this powerful seminar helps you to model and comprehensively evaluate community initiatives from these perspectives.

Additionally, you will appreciate the fact that, stakeholders of complex community initiatives, in many instances, are typically unclear about how the change process will unfold and therefore place little attention on the early and mid-term changes needed to reach a longer term goal resulting in the development of weak or even complete absence of monitoring systems. In such scenarios, your organization’s contribution to the overall result of an intervention is equally unclear!

Objectives of the Training:
• Participants able to apply the innovation of the Theory of Change to identify the critical distinction between desired and actual outcomes to inform the planning of interventions and initiatives
• Participants to critically and articulately model the desired outcomes for their programs before they decide on forms of intervention and intervention strategies and tactics most likely to result in achievement of those outcomes
• Appreciate the necessity of inclusivity in program design, implementation and evaluation to enhance performance
